In addition to the cut-a-way examples of the door’s construction, they carried full size examples of the leaded glass sidelights, hinges, sill plates and color options. The height measurement for our transom was smaller than normal and we had some concerns that this might prohibit us from having the leaded glass pattern in the transom match that of the sidelights.

One of the other door replacement companies which represented the same door manufacturer as Precision had advised us that the door manufacturer would not be able to match the transom pattern to that of the sidelights. They could provide a transom with some of the leaded glass details but not all. Galen personally contacted the door manufacturer and provided them with the measurements and the pattern which we had chosen. Galen was able to obtain confirmation that the transom would match the sidelights and provided us with a detailed drawing of the new door which he received from the manufacturer reflecting matching leaded glass patterns in the transom and sidelights.

Before making our final decision, we spoke and met with several other replacement door providers. Galen made us feel valued as a potential customer and that our project was very important to Precision. Every other provider that we spoke with advised us that it would be a minimum of twelve weeks before our door would be available for installation. Precision advised us that that they anticipated that the door would be ready for installation in eight to ten weeks. Our door was installed within eight weeks from the time that we placed the order. Precision is a very accommodating company.

We really liked our existing lock set and asked all the providers if we could reuse it rather than purchase a new one. Precision was the only company that confidently told us that they could accommodate this request. All the other companies stated that it might be possible but recommended getting new hardware from them. Finally, we found Precision’s pricing to be very reasonable as compared to the other companies. It was interesting that when we advised the other companies of our decision to not utilize them for our project, some of them offered a price reduction as an incentive to choose them. We found this process to be disappointing.

The price quote that we received from Precision was their best price. They don’t play games like some of the other companies do. The Precision team was upfront, honest and extremely professional during the proposal process.

The installation process for our new door went very smooth. The Precision team spent almost as much time protecting our floors and keeping the dust/debris and cold weather from penetrating too far into our home, as it took to remove the old door, prepare the opening and install the new door, a great deal of time and effort protecting our floors and weather-proofing the work area. The outside temperature on installation day was in the twenties. Mike, Galen and Elmer were very organized, meticulous and thorough in both the removal and installation process. They made sure that the work area was thoroughly cleaned before the left. We are extremely pleased with the work that Precision performed for us and recommend them highly.

Both gentlemen were very thorough and patient with the whole process. I had a tricky aspect to my door replacement and Galen came up with a solution that is perfect. All my phone calls and emails were always returned very promptly. The installation could not have been smoother, more thorough, or more pleasant. Galen and Elmer were wonderful, and did a fantastic job. The clean-up was thorough as well. They took great care in protecting my wood foyer floor, and the areas around the new door. I love my new ProVia door! This is an exceptional company.

I honestly cannot say enough good things about our experience with Precision Building Services. From the first contact, John and his team went above and beyond to ensure that all our questions were answered and that we were happy with our doors. We had an immediate rapport with John and Galen when they came to do our estimate. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and thorough. They brought no shortage of samples with them, and the opportunity to see and touch the product put me at ease about how the doors would fit with the character of our home. Installation was scheduled for the time frame Galen gave us when we signed the contract and paid our deposit a few weeks after our estimate.

He and Elmer turned up at the time they said they would, and took every precaution to cover our floors and furniture. In 3 days, both entry doors and their accompanying storm doors were replaced with our new selections! Our new ProVia doors look fantastic! The color matches perfectly, and the doors look appropriate for our home and feel solid and secure. And while it is too cold now to try out the retractable screen feature of our new storm doors, we are delighted with those as well! I will add that we had a second quote done just because of the financial outlay this project involved, and that experience only confirmed our decision that Precision Building Services was the right contractor for us. At least in our case, Precision's pricing was far better and our money stretched further: we were able to get the "extra" things we wanted, like kick plates and nicer storm doors, and still pay less than the second estimate (which was for the exact same brand and series of doors). And cost aside, feeling comfortable with someone who is coming to our home to work on it is very important to us, and of the two, only Precision Building Services had this intangible but crucial thing going for them.

In addition John had wood and fiberglass color samples and glass samples. He was patient with me as I selected my door from the samples (and changed my mind a few times). I am very pleased with our door's appearance. Even my husband typically does not notice such things praised the door as "handsome."

Even excellent products can fail without proper installation. I was not concerned about Precision Building Service. I was confident installation would be top notch. During John's initial sales call, I was impressed by his attention to detail. He noticed every nuisance and then some as he carefully measured for the door.  Mike and Elmer, when they arrived with the door, were well prepared from John's notes. I cannot say enough about both Mike and Elmer. The guys were very pleasant,  personable, and hard-working. Our sub-floor was just starting to flake/rot.  Through their skills and experience, they meticulously repaired the floor creating a solid level surface for installation. And excellent job without comparison! Our door was on solid footing.

Elmer did an excellent job cleaning up. In fact he swept the garage better than I. For a construction project, the house remained clean even though just was being kicked up.

I recently had a remodeler stop for an estimate. He recognized the door as ProVia since he had installed a few himself . The remodeler continued with high praise  of Mike and Elmer's work.  He praised the door's alignment as level and straight, and the door jambs,  corners, and trim as tight. In short a highly regarded professional was impressed by Mike and Elmer's installation.

Our foyer was once drafty and cold. Now with the airtight installation of our new entry system by Precision Building Service, no more air leakage. Thanks for a great job!

Precision Building is a small company run principally by the father/son team that do the selling and installation. From our first meeting we were impressed by the time Mike Gingerich took to insure we had the right product for each of the four doors we replaced.  In the end he visited with us on three occasions, taking several hours, prior to signing the contract. It was time well spent for us.

While ordering custom replacement doors takes longer than you would like, it was not unreasonable considering that each of our doors and hardware were individually made for each entry. Our French doors (the leakiest of the bunch) were original to our 68 year old house, a non-standard size and had to be custom built. Precision Building coordinated the construction, painting and installation of these off-sized doors. No small task. Adding the storm doors required significant modification and skill to properly install. All of this was handled flawlessly.

Mike Gingerich was our principal installer and did amazing, meticulous work with a true craftsman's skill developed over many years. He was efficient, neat, prompt and considerate of our time, space and home. I would recommend this company in a heartbeat! We could not be more satisfied or amazed by the quality of their work.

I believe it was his son who arrived for the installation and I feel badly that I can't recall his name. He did an amazing job and completed the installation of the new door and two storm doors in a single day! He was extremely polite, meticulous and cleaned up completely after completing the work.

Not only this Precision Building Service went above and beyond by repairing pre-existing damage to the trim and ensuring every nook and cranny was sealed!
